The Inner Work Project
Hello, I’m Kate Adams, founder of the Inner Work Project. I’m a publisher and writer and I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with many wonderful teachers, healers and creators along the way.
Books I’ve published include A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle and Live Well Every Day by Dr Alex George. After working at Random House and then Penguin, I launched the Aster* imprint for Octopus Books. I’ve always loved coming up with book ideas, from suggesting Kim & Aggie do a cleaning book to creating a series of guided journals based on a title that popped into my head one day – Five Minutes in the Morning.
The seed of the idea for the Inner Work Project came about because while I have always been an avid reader and publisher of self-help books, I’ve not been so great at putting the theory into daily practice. I’m brimming with good intentions. I was also uncomfortable with the convention that any self-respecting self-help book had to offer a ‘promise’ or a ‘result’. I had a nagging voice whispering to me that it was the journey that mattered, not the destination.
The Inner Work Project is therefore devoted to helping us ‘do the work’. We are launching with a series of inner workbooks; self-study retreats that you can do at home. Our mission is to share ways in which we can make the inner journey of discovery. To meet our kindest, wisest selves. To heal and grow. To stop holding ourselves back, feel alive and nourished and purposeful.
I welcome your ideas for workbooks – whether there is a workbook you wish to read or to write. Drop me a line through the Contacts page.
